Some of the critical work you'll do includes:

• Serve as an inspector/surveyor on roadway and structure projects.
• Apply your knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction inspection and surveying.
• Support engineers in highway construction administration.
• Monitor contractor's daily operations and perform/review tests and reports to ensure that all work and materials conform to specifications, plans, and contractual provisions.
• Work with other technicians, including NCDOT staff and contracted construction inspectors
• Resolve daily constructability issues and troubleshoot problems to mitigate delays to contractor's progress.
