What do actors/actresses do when they’re in between jobs?

I’ve always wondered what some low popularity actors/actresses do when they’re don’t currently have a project they’re getting paid for. Do they work in supermarkets or become cleaners? Do they really just live off of the last pay check from the last movie/tv show they did? Has anyone ever seen any famous people in normal, everyday jobs?
