Difference in production quality in soap operas compared to other shows and movies?

Hello, I was at the gym today casually glancing over to the tv that plays soap operas like I usually do, and I thought about how quickly I (and likely many casual viewers) notice that the production quality is much worse and more awkward than everything else on tv. Of course I know about things like sound mixing x editing etc, but I guess I’m curious to hear more about what that means from a production standpoint. The actors in soap operas are also beautiful, the sets don’t seem terrible, I guess I’m interested what exactly makes it so obvious for me. Anyone with experience or information on how soaps are produced please share your knowledge if you’d like!
