Vet 1 and still shooting inconsistent
I play rec 99 percent. I've been a regular player since probably '18 or so. I'm vet 1 and I did it as elite so that is a lot of games.
I am solid at dribbling driving defending passing rebounding etc.
I've typically been a good shooter in 2k until this year. I feel like it's mental at this point. I started with the button then switched to rhythm shooting. Really liked it then they started messing with it to stop cheaters and now I find myself all over the place, mainly struggling with all the different catches, speedups and slowdowns. I miss so many corner 3s because of the speedup animation that often happens.
I've tried button as well and I'm OK but it never feels right after doing rhythm shooting and arguably I'm not more accurate.
I can actually shoot decently on spot ups with wings and bigs (50 percent on mostly wide open with so so ratings) But on small guards even with shooting ratings in the 90s I'm so inconsistent, and I see guys draining everything game after game, even centers with sub 80 3 pointer going 6 for 9 often contested. A big part i think is it feels like I have to hyperfocus on my shot to make sure I get my release right, but as a ball handler I have to be seeing the whole floor.
I absolutely refuse to go on non shooting builds that just adds problems for everyone else.
Any suggestions on how I can get back on track here?
