Swapping 2nd m.2 ruined my boot

So I got a msi b550-a pro which has two m.2 slots, obviously windows is installed on the main drive while the second one I use for my google chrome downloads. Decided to upgrade to a 2tb because it was an older 500GB m.2. Didn’t think anything of it but did the swap and windows wouldn’t boot. Switched it to legacy to see my OS and then boot again, now my pin doesn’t work and cannot even login. So I switch it back to the previous m.2 and UEFI, windows boots but still have a PIN error.

I’ve swapped out so many drives over the years, never has it once messed up my boot let alone my PIN.

So I ended up having to reinstall windows and lose some important files on the C drive sadly.

Assuming it’s a motherboard and looking at the 2nd m.2, there were no windows files, boot files etc on the drive, it was your typical NTFS storage drive lol. Swapping the drive somehow messed up the boot which then corrupted my PIN. If someone has had something similar happened or knows what could have caused it, I’d appreciate it.
