Garrett and Taylor staying on the East Coast

One of the things that struck me the most was the fact that Garrett and Taylor are planning on moving to DC. One of the things that seemed so important to Taylor on the show was moving back to San Diego to be with her family. It rubs me the wrong way that Garrett told her he was fine with moving, and then after they got married, he did a complete 180. I understand that people can change their minds about these serious life decisions - but in this specific short timeline, she chose to marry him in part because he was okay with moving. It seems a little insidious to me that she’s giving up her dream of living near family so he can stay near his. DC isn’t neutral ground - it’s far closer to Garrett’s family and friends - it’s the same coast. Obviously we don’t know the conversations they had and how they came to this decision, but I hate that she’s sacrificing seemingly the one thing that was extremely important to her. I feel like women are constantly put in this position of sacrificing their own wants and needs in the name of “partnership”.
