The eyelines / cast not looking at each other / cue card reading is getting hard to watch

I don't mind them using cue cards for their lines, but Chris Rock on the most recent episode was so hard to watch with him not looking anywhere near the other cast he was talking to.

He was facing forward reading his cards while he talks to characters to his side, for most of his sketches. This happens so often, especially with guest hosts. Can they not get a cue card person offscreen behind the person he is talking to?

It's a minor thing, but it makes so much of the show feel unnatural and odd. Yes it is live and made in a week, but there's no reason this should be such a constant issue.
