Ghost touch issues on Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

I have flashed LineageOS onto my Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro and am having severe ghost touch problems ever since, where the device registers seemingly random touch inputs in rapid succession, sometimes as soon as the display is turned on. This comes to the point where the device sometimes just isn't usable and the ghost inputs can cause damage such as spurious calls, messages, deletions, and purchases.

Ghost touch issues have been a problem on the Poco X3 Pro in the past even on its own MIUI rom, but to my understanding those were fixed in a system update quite some time ago. On LineageOS the problem persists. It is difficult to google for solutions regarding this problem on LineageOS though, as either no good results exist or they are flooded out by hits regarding the same problem on the same device on MIUI.

Unfortunately, I have little understanding of the cause of this ghost touch, nor do I know much about LineageOS. Is there anything I can personally do to combat this problem other than flashing back to MIUI?
