New fan here, I’m a little overwhelmed with the whole franchise

On a whim, I decided to watch the original Alien, and I loved Romulus in the Cinema a week later, but now I’m a little overwhelmed by the whole franchise, and what to watch next.

(Forgot to add: I also watched Prey a while ago with a friend, and I liked that one as well, but not as much as Romulus)

I know there are the 7 Alien movies, including Romulus, do the Predator movies tie into that at all or is it a whole different franchise?

The AVP movies are just a spinoff, are they worth watching/essential to the universe at all?

And should Prometheus be first in my watch order because it sets up important stuff for later?
