"Playersexual" = "bisexual", let's not lie to ourselves ft. Ciri in Witcher 3

I've been carefully observing the conversations around the games like Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk2077, recently KCD2 and I see the similar debate again and again. That whether the ability to romance same sex characters makes characters bisexual or simply "playersexual" aka YOU choose the orientation. And I think it is a very carefully planted poison in modern games to fool people like us into believing our choices matter.

Let me make this perfectly clear, YOUR choice absolutely doesn't matter. What matters is the choice of the devs and their tiny "modern audience".

To my example, there is literally ONE single dialogue in the Witcher3(not even romance) to say that "Ciri prefers women". And in the context of the game it can even be interpreted as her simply not wanting to give Skjall a chance. But as I said, YOUR interpretation doesn't matter. The way woke people interpret it: "she is a lesbian or bi in the worst case, and it is canon, sorry not sorry". I can't emphasize enough how many times ,when Ciri's sexuality debate came up, I had to see the same screenshot of that dialogue again and again, it is exhausting. And it perfectly demonstrates the true intention of "playersexual".

All the games mentioned in this post will eventually get sequels that will canonize only certain choices and you know very well what those will be. They might even do it in a DLC like LOU or worse, in a fucking comicbook like Assassin's Creed Odyssey canonized female protagonist. So you won't even get some time for you canon to live, it will be rewritten by the time you finish the game.

And this isn't even just about gay stuff, the same Witcher3 canonized Yennefer romance for example, like sorry team Triss but it is what it is. And yet you think they don't have Ciri's canon sexuality in mind? We should stop lying to ourselves and stop gaslighting each other that not being okay with these non-choices is "just like the other side".

Tl:Dr "playersexual" choices will always be used to justify canonizing a character as gay or bi and never straight as the practice shows. You will never be able to call a playersexual character straight even if that was your choice.
