Just realized that Alan in Dominion more closely resembles his novel counterpart

I don't really care for Alan Grant's portrayal and overall uselessness in Dominion. It seems that Colin is a Malcolm fanboy, which is fine, but it is sad that is came at Alan's expense.

That being said, I just recently noticed that her looks like how he is described in the first Jurassic Park novel.

"A bearded, barrel chested man of 40"

Same Neil was a great choice for Alan Grant and I will always stand by his portrayal. That being said, his casting in the first Jurassic Park film was definitely a flashy-Hollywood choice.

Anyone who has seen a real paleontologist would know that many of them have a disheveled and rugged look (look up images of Jack Horner and Robert Bakker).

Which is actually find cool. They are so devoted to their field they forgo their own vanity.

But Alan Grant looked much more like the traditional image of a paleontologist in Dominion.
