Career Houdini artists, what's your work/life balance like?

A big reason I never pursued the animation industry was because I didn't like the work/life balance that they offered. The hours are always arduous and I just wasn't the type of person to put work over my personal health and goals. In my current career, I'm doing well but I don't really like the lack of time it gives me to pursue my creative projects now. VFX was always secondary when it came to my 3D interests, but I really only used it a little in Unity and Blender.

With that in mind, I wanted to ask what the work/life style is like for a career Houdini artists, and if you personally believe that you're afforded enough time to pursue your own projects.
