Is anyone NOT experiencing the dreaded blue triangle of death upon starting a GPS related activity?

I'm running a Venu 3 and just booted up a GPS walking activity at 11:20 EST, with no issues.

I have turned off WiFi connectivity and unpaired my watch from my phone until a fix is pushed out from Garmin. Is this likely to be enough to continue using my watch, albeit without the added functionality of the Connect app ony phone?
