Best discipline to watch for non-skating fans
I have tickets to worlds and have some friends who are not skating fans but are eager to join to get a taste of it - for 1 event (cheap balcony tickets), likely sp/rd as it is cheaper/shorter.
I have a personal bias due to my own favourite disciplines, but am wondering what people think would be the best to watch for noobs.
I was initially thinking the rhythm dance, as most people will know the music and it's fun to watch, but on second thoughts, not sure this would be the best as a) I have been following skating for many years and still don't understand the technicalities and nuances myself and b) there is not as much variety in the programmes (ie hearing the mashed potato song many times).
I'm thinking men/women/pairs may be easier to watch for the casual viewer as there is more variety among the programmes, and it is a lot easier to spot errors (ie falls) so the scoring is more understandable.
Would be grateful for input from anyone who has been in a similar situation before. Thanks!
*Edited to say thanks everyone for the input, I think we have a pretty clear answer. Pairs is my personal favourite but glad to have it confirmed as a great option to watch for non fans too!
