Hellmode on V 0.9

I just downloaded hellmode and was reading the instructions and it suggests to download an older version of the game. I was curious if anyone was running it on the latest patch without issues and whether or not it was necessary.

Because if i revert back to the .8 version there is no thaumaturgy correct?
