Totem for Software Development?

Hello amazing community!
I'm trying to choose a split keyboard column staged. I see some corner has this, but when I see Totem, I was convinced with his pinky splay. Now the question is, how was your experience in software development with Totem? I know there is a learning curve and I'm ready to tackle it. Any tips?
