Is Malenia really that difficult?

I have 100% completion on dark souls 1 and dark souls 3. I am now playing Elden Ring for the first time. I am yet to fight Malenia. I don't really know any other bosses, or any spoilers, I just know that people are always talking about how difficult she is.

Is she actually that difficult or are people just exaggerating? And how is she compared to the other games?
