Sam Harris and Jordan Peterson are not in the same league

In the most recent episode while Chris was discussing Boghossian and Keating he referred to the "Jordan Peterson Sam Harris kind of IDW sphere." I have listened to most of the subjects of the podcast and agree with Matt and Chris' assessments in every case besides SH. After listening to Matt and Chris discuss SH on the podcast, I naturally had a pretty negative bias toward him. But, after listening to several of his podcasts as well as interviews that he has done on other podcasts, I actually like him. He speaks very clearly (in contrast to JP) and strikes me as an honest broker (also in contrast to JP). He has some pretty obvious blind spots in terms of who he extends the benefit of the doubt to (which I actually do find pretty tiresome), but overall he seems like an honest public intellectual who has effectively resisted the incentives to be captured by his audience. He even explicitly rebuked the "IDW" on one of his podcast episodes and expressed his desire not to be associated with it. I don't agree with all of his positions, but he clearly and concisely explains his reasons for drawing the conclusions that he has. This is in stark contrast to JP (or other loons like the Weinsteins) who are obviously intoxicated by audience capture and have plainly gone off the deep end. Matt and Chris (especially Chris) seem mostly to dislike SH but have few substantive critiques of him.

TL;DR: SH and JP belong in completely different categories.
