How does the overnight trading session relate to PDT?

For example, if you were to open a position at 10pm, and then close the position at 8am the following morning (or any time opening the position before midnight and closing it after midnight). Is that a day trade under PDT? In other words is PDT using that midnight hour as the marker between days, or is it based on trading sessions?
