20yo Student | Getting a New Card

Hi everyone, I'm a 20yo student hoping to open a new credit card. Currently, I have a Chase Freedom Student with a 1.9k limit, 15k annual income, and it's about 2 years old. My FICO score is 690. I want to get a new card because I'm about to live in an apartment. I'm planning on submitting my parent's W-2 as a form of income.

I'm extremely hesitant on opening a new card, but my (much older) coworkers tell me that now is the time to start. And all my friends are opening a billion with Discover and Capital One for the 1x cashback, etc. I'm scared that in 10 years, I'm going to shelve the card because it was a wreckless decision I made in my early 20's and I don't want to end a long relationship with one of my cards.

I don't care about cashback or any of that other stuff, though it is appealing. I just want to build credit. Too much is going on my cards (personal expenses, groceries), and I think that's what stopping me from building credit. Right now, I'm looking at the Capital One Quicksilver/Savor, or the Fidelity Visa Rewards. Do you think it's stupid to open one right now? Or which one would be best for me. Thank you!
