Possibility of second PE

I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism in March of this year and am currently taking 10 mg of Xarelto. Over the past week, I’ve been experiencing heart palpitations, though a better way to describe them is a feeling of discomfort, like a sensation of wind in my chest, along with an urgent need to touch the area around my heart. It’s especially worse when I lie down. My hematologist is currently ruling out a second pulmonary embolism, but the ER has refused to conduct another CT scan. My oxygen levels are normal, but I’m experiencing panic attacks. How likely is it to have a second pulmonary embolism? My first one was unprovoked, described as bad luck by my doctor.
