Second Year Anna University student Raped
Second Year Student in Anna University Campus Raped
This post was made to bring this incident to light as it doesn't seem to be getting enough attention and I also made this post for a rant.
It is honestly so infuriating and exhausting to see how no matter how many protests, no matter how many such incidents of rape and assault are reported, the perpetrators continue to do this and that too in places like educational institutions, hospitals and even near temples! The only two ways to reduce this savage inhumanly behaviour is by publically punishing these perpetrators by doing castration or something so future incidents will be avoided by instilling some fear in these dogs. The other way is the more difficult route and that is changing people's mindset, this is what annoys the shit out of me.
At this point it is not even men, so many women are victim blaming, when I read about this incident, some of my older female relatives started character assassinating this girl and said that she shouldn't have gone out alone at night with her boyfriend and that was wrong of her, because according to them "at the end of the day it is the woman suffering, so the woman should be more careful and avoid this". Mind you, this is coming from an educated family who have had exposure to the foreign world. It is honestly so disappointing and frustrating to hear the woman getting blamed all the goddamn time. This girl was in her college campus, a place she considered to be safe, she was with her boyfriend/male friend (doesn't matter honestly), a person who she was comfortable with and trusted, and felt would be safe with, and this innocent girl was dragged, assaulted and raped! How is this her fault!??
If she had been along with her father and a similar incident had happened, the perspective would be so different, just because she was with the opposite gender, she is already categorised as a "woman prone to such acts". I don't know when this country is going to change and when men with such horrid thoughts will change for the better and realise that women aren't their slaves and when women of this society will realise that it is not the women who need to change but the men. I am so sick and tired of this country.
