How are people affording cars these days?

Are people just leasing cars now in some form?

I recently had a look at a Seat Tarraco. The cheapest I could find was £17k at 68,000 miles and already 5 years old.

From a loan comparison site. This would cost £330 per month for 5 years.

So, by the time I paid the car off at £330 per month for 5 years. The car would be 10 years old.

It's been a while since I bought a car, but damn, this just seems like crazy prices now. Granted, it's a 7 seater, and likey inflates the price a bit, but I've no idea how people are affording the Audis and BMWs that turn up on most streets now in the UK.
