NMIMS review
Since NMIMS results are out and many of you are not sure whether to apply or not, let me share my perspective and 2 cents on this college
Current scenario - around 230 students are yet to be placed for Summer Interns {including me :( }, stipends are dropping to 10k per month, how would one survive in mumbai with such low packages. The fees is 25 lakhs, on top of that add cost of living in bombay which will take the total expenses to 33-35 lakhs minimum. Seniors are getting placed at 13-15 lpa with minimum ctc going as low as 8 lakhs. ROI is very poor. Students are not allowed to discuss these numbers else their placement will be impacted, that's why there is so much secrecy with regards to these numbers and the placement reports are inflated a lot like every private college does. Reduce the numbers by 30% to get a real picture.
The college doesn't have any campus, all you get is a huge building. Note that only 3 floors are alloted to MBA students and the building is shared with undergraduate students. There is a tiny library which is also shared among all the students be it UG or PG. Lack of campus kills the MBA vibe and the experience. You have to pay for literally everything be it sports ~200 per day or any other activity). The kids are smart here and the huge batch size leads to a lot of issues in the placements. Competing in a batch of 690, the competition even gets tougher.
Teaching wise it's an average college, with some great faculties and some not so great ones. The institute is a pure money minded institute and will charge for everything, you won't be provided with physical books lol (cost saving initiatives). The college still manages to get good brands on the campus owing to its well established alumni base but the bottom 50% of the batch struggles a lot for placements. Administration is very strict with attedance (80% min attendance rule).
NM should be kept as your last option if you don't want to take a drop, but keep the expectations low. Its a tier 1.5-2 college at best, the ROI is very poor and joining here with education loans can be a burden. This post can be reported and remove, take a screenshot and share
