On the opposite end of the spectrum, what’s a show that you enjoyed/liked more than you expected to that other people hated?
My two are New York, New York and A Beautiful Noise. NY NY I thought was perfectly fine - nothing revolutionary but entertaining enough. My peers downright hated it! I saw ABN on its current tour (my partner’s in the pit!) and I think it’s a nice palette cleanser of a show. Neil Diamond music is nice and cozy, and the musical has some excellent arrangements and a clever-enough story to keep everything flowing.
