Getting Off All Prescription Drugs
I’m a 40f and my health has been challenging the last decade or so. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, anxiety, depression, severe back issues that have required surgery and obesity.
I have been working on detoxing my life by switching out toxics items in my home , changing my diet, etc.
I’ve enlisted my doctor to help me get off all my prescriptions. I think they are doing more harm than good. He was immediately hesitant and said we can talk about it again down the road. The main thing I want to get off is my depression/anxiety meds. I have struggled in the past when I have gone off of them and have been told I need to be on them for life. I’ve been on various ones for the past 25 years.
Is it really possible that my only option is to be on them for life? What vitamins/minerals could I replace them with? If I ate really clean, could that be enough? I’m tired of poisoning my body with all these synthetic medicines. Maybe try a naturopathic doctor?
I just want to feel better and anytime I tell a doctor I’m feeling worse, they just throw more pills at me.
Wow, thank you all so much for all the wonderful input and responses. To give a little more background, I be lost 100 lbs in the last few years but got pregnant during Covid, had a very high risk pregnancy, a hard delivery and that’s when the back issues started. I 100% believe nearly all my issues stem from the weight and I’m desperate to lose the 50 lbs I gained back. The tricky part is that I have been disabled for several years due to my back issues and the subsequent surgeries. I’m very dedicated to getting that weight off now that I’ve been cleared for activity.
I’m going to take your great feedback and my doctors advice into account and move towards my goals😊
