[Complete] [110K] [Urban Fantasy-YA LGBTQ] Call Us Monsters
Call us Monsters is my first major work that I've felt really passionate about for a while. I just finished my 3rd(ish) round of revising/editing. I am open to a general timeline of about a month, I know it's a longer work. I would love to offer a small beta-swap right now, but life is really busy right now- hopefully that changes.
I would ask for reading it whole, instead of in chunks. For feedback: basic reader reaction, do the plots and characters make sense, do character voices sound natural Work available via Google Docs
Blurb: There is a lighthouse in the middle of the New Mexican desert that has attracted monsters for generations, until it finally stops. Seven high schoolers each individually discover that they are all different monsters after a strange event takes place in their small desert town. There is Draco, an unwitting vampire with a cold, capitalist father, Magnus, a runaway that is acts as both Frankenstein and the Monster, and Lucy, who can make fast friends with the living and the dead. There is Collin, a werewolf trying hard not to hurt any of his friends, and Griffin, who is excited to come to terms with their new invisibility, but not with their budding gender identity crisis. There is Patrick, who reluctantly accepts his time travel ability, and Eve, who discovers she is cursed with invincibility. While they battle these changes in their lives, both teenage and supernatural, they must also battle an ancient but suave evil force that has also awoken. It is only after accepting their struggles they able to defeat the villain.
