Response to being told to “smile more”

One of my male coworkers is always talking to me and will be in my area or find excuses to talk to me even though we don’t really work together. I am polite but distant bc he invades my personal space and is overly friendly and clearly can’t read cues that I want to be left alone— all things I find extremely irritating. Recently he had the nerve to interrupt my work to ask why I don’t smile more and gave me suggestions of how I should present myself as though I asked him. Wtf I thought it was 2025–who’s still asking this and what are you saying people when they tell you this!
