What is the extra hole in intake manifold ?

My friend sent this to me and asked me. I'm a car guy who studies automotive engineering and I feel ashamed that I don't know this! I thought it was for EGR valve but the placement doesn't seem like it. Or is it actually for egr? Any help? It's for Proton Iswara
