Typical Nurse pay with 3 years experience?

I'm coming from Houston which is lower cost of living, and I currently get paid in the low to mid 40s (considering night shift and weekend differential).

I just spoke to Loyola and they were going to offer me $37. Is that typical around here? I'm in the greater Chicago area, but things are still a bit more expensive here than Houston. :( I told them that I would probably not consider $37 as that is lower for myself (that was New Grad pay for me).

I guess what I'm wondering is there any way for negotiating or how can I talk about this before the recruiter mentioning it?
