Visiting for St Patty's - still do the architecture tour or too cold? Anything else we need to do?

My BF (M36) and me (F35) are traveling to Chicago for St Patty's weekend!! Super excited!! (We're weak Houstonians, though, so gonna freeze our butts off) ... I've been before in June for work - and May for a friend's college graduation - my boyfriend has been, but as a kid/doesn't remember

We're making a long weekend of it - seeing a show at Second City, eating at Giordano's, grabbing a fancy-ass dinner at Ever (BIG fans of The Bear!!) ... and of course, we're going to be heading out early to watch the river get dyed green & see the parade - and we've got the Art Institute in the plan

We're also planning to tour Wrigley Field if they have availability (it's off-season/no tickets posted for March, yet, but they said they'll likely have tours for that weekend)

My boyfriend also mentioned wanting to go see the Shameless house - lordy - I'm feeling like that's an awful idea/like it's an AWFUL part of Chicago and it's just asking for trouble - or am I wrong? Can tourists go see it without getting robbed/shot/etc.?

I also keep seeing from EVERYONE that we need to do an architecture tour - but we're thinking it's going to be too cold and that it seems like more of a summer thing ... or is it just that good and we need to do it?

I'd also love tips on where we should head after the parade for "Bar-Hopping/Green-Beer-Drinking/St. Patty's Day Fun" - what to do in Lincoln Park on Friday afternoon - and anything we're missing for our mostly empty Sunday?

We're staying near Millennium Park to be near all the parade stuff and planning on Lyfting/Ubering to other spots
