Advice on DSLR scanning

Hi, I got some hands on a decent analog camera and I've been looking into DSLR scanning. I have a canon 1200d I can use with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lenses.

I plan on getting some macro tube extensions and I believe I have found some that might work (SHOOT C- AF Set Macro Extension Tube Ring) but I'm not sure what slide adapter to get that would fit my lens (can't find any information on it really, most slide adapters just talk about mounting on macro lenses). Should I just bite the bullet and get a macro lens? I read that tubes may have worse quality and if I need it for the slide adapter I might as well get it.

Any advice would be welcome as I'm looking to get as much info as possible, my goal is mostly to play around and learn how it works not really planning to shoot more than 35mm film anyway
