AITAH for my reaction to her “joke”?

The X (still living together) sent me a picture of a bird that flew into my closed bedroom window and died. She said “your bird committed suicide”. My response was “what the fuck is that supposed to mean”? Her response was “Omg. Was just tryn to make a joke that clearly didn’t land well since your response is so vulgar. Nevermind. I always have such regrets trying to communicate with you. Not sure why I have these moments of insanity”.

For over 30 years she’s made these kind of “jokes” at my expense and I think my response was quite appropriate. Rather than apologizing I think she’s deflecting by focusing on my reaction rather than seeing how it makes me feel. AITAH?
